About Us

Our Mission

To restore community-based food systems and healthy ecosystems by empowering the farmers, ranchers, and Indigenous agriculturalists who steward our landscapes and waterways, grow & raise nourishing food, and care about it the most.

Our Vision

Contribute to a culture founded on reciprocity, meaningful relationships, and a holistic mindset. By responsibly growing, raising, catching, gathering, hunting, and killing plants and animals, we embrace our human role in the food web and interact with all living things in a way that makes us understand them, care for them, and connect with them.

Our Guiding Values

Integrity matters

We respect confidentiality with the people we work with and develop trust by being honest. What we say we can do, we do – or we won’t make that promise.

Transparency is key to meaningful relationships

We are open to any questions about how we work and who we work with. We value open and truthful communication with the farmers, ranchers, clients, communities, and partners we collaborate with and support.

Make the Juice Worth the Squeeze

Our time, efforts, and energy are directed at the tangible and meaningful. We pursue a project, a grant, or a resource only if it is worth the time to obtain it. We focus on achievable steps to help farmers and ranchers grow a healthy ag business and strong support network.

Be Like Mycorrhizal Fungi

Underneath our feet is a complex network of exchanges between plants and mycorrhizal fungi. The fungi work with roots to support plant health and build soil fertility. We work on building that same kind of symbiotic network above ground by fostering collaboration among farmers, ranchers, and other partners to ensure the health of their business, each other, and our communities. Our ancient fungi ancestors show us how to behave – with intense cooperation.
